Pyrazolam (SH-I-04) is a derivative of benzodiazepine initially developed in the 1970s by a team led by Leo Sternbach at Hoffman-La Roche, and subsequently “rediscovered” and marketed beginning in 2012 as a designer drug.

Structural similarities to alprazolam and bromazepam are found in Pyrazolam. Pyrazolam does not tend to undergo digestion, unlike most benzodiazepines, but is excreted unchanged in the urine instead. It is most selective for the GABAA receptor subtypes alpha2 and alpha3.
